The document of the department says that the first option for the Russian Federation provides for a large-scale offensive in the Donbass, where the actions of the Belarusian army will play a distracting role – the military of the Republic of Belarus will allegedly begin to deploy weapons near the border with Ukraine.
It is noted that the dictator Alexander Lukashenko will not get involved in the war against Ukraine directly.
The second option in the German Ministry of Defense is designated as unlikely, since it is more ambitious and will require the Russian Federation to attract much more resources.
According to this plot, Belarus should enter into an open war, its troops will go on the offensive against Kyiv, and the Russians will advance throughout the Donbass. In addition, a strike on the western regions of Ukraine is possible in order to cut off the supply of equipment from partners and force Ukraine to capitulate.
German analysts emphasize that the implementation of such a plan will require “much more soldiers than now,” and according to the latest speeches by Russian leaders, there is no talk of a significant increase in the Russian army.
