Petro Andryushchenko, an adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, said that Russia is transferring military equipment to the Zaporizhzhia area. About 20 tanks and 30 trucks were spotted in Mariupol moving in the direction of Berdyansk.
Not all the equipment that crosses Mariupol moves directly in the direction of Zaporizhzhia – to Melitopol or Berdyansk. About this 24 Kanala said a deputy of the Zaporizhia Regional Council Serhii Lyshenko. According to him, part of it remains in Donetsk region, in particular in the territory beyond Mariupol to strengthen the northern borders from Volnovakha, Ugledar, etc.
He noted that a lot of equipment enters Mariupol and then moves to Berdyansk and Melitopol along the route that goes from Taganrog to Mariupol, then from Mariupol to Berdyansk, from Berdyansk to Melitopol and from there it is already directed to Kherson, Odesa, etc.
He noted that in some places of the Berdyansk district, this route rises quite high, and in the event that the Armed Forces advance several tens of kilometers to the south, it will already be blocked by artillery fire.
“The occupiers understand this, and that is why they are actively trying to strengthen themselves along this line of defense, creating security for this particular corridor,” emphasized Serhiy Lyshenko.
