“Prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office are preparing an appeal against the verdict of the Higher Anti-Corruption Court of September 20, 2022, by which the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the 8th convocation was found not guilty of the criminal offense provided for in Part 2 of Art. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, in connection with the lack of evidence of the presence of elements of this criminal offense in his actions. Prosecutors do not agree with such a decision of the court and will defend their position in the court of appeal.”the prosecutor’s office informs.
According to “Slovo i Dilo” information, it is about ex-Nardeput Dmytro Kolesnikov. It was he who was acquitted by VAKS in the case of possible abuses while receiving compensation for renting housing in Kyiv.
We will remind, according to the indictment, from December 2014 to October 2018, Kolesnikov illegally received from the state budget compensation for the costs of renting a room in the Kyiv hotel in the amount of UAH 738.74 thousand, allegedly because he did not have his own home in the capital . However, as the detectives established, in fact the deputy had his own apartment in the capital and he deliberately hid this fact. The case was referred to the court on June 22, 2020.
