The Security Service of Ukraine has completed the counterintelligence measures it carried out in the territories of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra in Kyiv, the Koretsky Holy Trinity Monastery and in the premises of the UOC Sarnensko-Polyska Diocese in the Rivne region.

As reported by the press center SBU, more than 350 church buildings and 850 people were checked. It is noted that more than 50 people underwent in-depth counterintelligence interviews, including the use of a polygraph. Among them were not only citizens of Ukraine, but also foreigners, in particular citizens of the Russian Federation, who were on the territory of the facilities.

“Some of them, during the document check, provided passports and military tickets of the USSR, they did not have original documents at all, but only their copies, or they had passports of Ukrainian citizens with signs of forgery or damage,” the report says.

In addition, a 32-year-old Ukrainian who worked for the pro-Russian information agency “Antvan” was on the territory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.

“At the same time, he is a trusted person of the owner of the Russian company of the same name, ANTVAN GROUP – a citizen of the Russian Federation, O.V. Orlov, who owned a number of land plots and public catering establishments in Ukraine. Currently, this property has been seized as part of criminal proceedings,” law enforcement officers said.

In addition, in the course of security measures, the following were found:

  • pro-Russian literature, which is used during studies in seminaries and parish schools, including for propaganda of the “Russian world”;
  • cash in the total amount of more than 2 million hryvnias, more than 100 thousand dollars and several thousand Russian rubles.

Searches of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra – what is known

On November 22, SBU officers searched the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. This happened after information appeared in the mass media that “Russian peace” was glorified in one of the churches of the Lavra. According to law enforcement officers, they conducted counter-intelligence measures.

In addition, the SBU conducted investigative actions in the regions of Ukraine, namely, on the territory of the Koretsky Holy Trinity Monastery in the city of Korets, the women’s monastery in honor of the Volyn icon of the Mother of God in the village of Sernyki, and on the territory of the premises of the Sarnensko-Polyska eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.

The Security Service of Ukraine also conducted searches in the energy company “VS Energy”, which is owned by Russian oligarchs.
