The Norwegian Non-Governmental Research Institute (NORSAR) recorded signs of an explosion along the Finnish coast of the Baltic Sea on the night of October 8. As a result, the Balticconnector gas pipeline was probably damaged and out of order for several months.

This is reported on the website NORSAR.

According to Norwegian seismologists, the source of the explosion was located approximately 40 km from Paldiski in Estonia. According to estimates, the strength of the recorded shock was 1 point, which is less than the result of the explosion on the “North Stream” in September 2022.

It is noted that estimates, locations, and magnitudes may be inaccurate and further data analysis is currently underway.

As you know, on the night of October 8, a malfunction was detected in the communication cable of the gas pipeline between Finland and Estonia. According to the authorities, the gas pipeline was out of order for several months. At the same time, the mass media report that the aggressor country Russia could be behind the damage to the gas pipeline.

We will remind that the Russian gas pipelines “Nord Stream” and “Nord Stream-2” were blown up at the end of September 2022.

Earlier, the incident was already called a sabotage, and the aggressor country demanded an “international investigation” of the explosion, which was logically refused.

“Word and Deed” also tried to find out whether there is a “Ukrainian trace” in the history of the destruction of PP/PP-2 and who would actually benefit from blowing up the gas pipelines.
