The lower house of the Swiss parliament – the National Council – opposed the adoption of an amendment that allows the re-export of Swiss weapons and ammunition to Ukraine.

It is reported European truth.

The initiative of the Council of Cantons (upper house) was supported by only 48 deputies.

At the same time, 135 parliamentarians, representing mainly left and far-right political parties, voted against the amendment.

At the same time, members of parliament are developing another draft law, the adoption of which will allow the re-export of military equipment and weapons to countries that the UN Security Council or two-thirds of the members of the General Assembly have recognized as having violated international law.

It will be recalled that the amendment allowing the re-export of Swiss weapons and ammunition to Ukraine was adopted by the Council of Cantons at the beginning of June.

Earlier it was reported that Switzerland will expand the program of financial assistance to Ukraine.
