The Russian occupying army has significantly increased the number of shelling of the territory of Ukraine with guided air bombs. To solve this problem, the Ukrainian military needs to suppress the activity of the enemy’s tactical aviation.
This was stated by Yuriy Ignat, a representative of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, at a briefing in Media Center Ukraine.
“The number of guided aerial bombs released by the enemy is increasing. The enemy has the opportunity, thanks to these aerial bombs, to strike at a distance, approximately at a distance of 50 km from the line of combat or the state border.” – said Ignat.
These bombs often miss their targets, he said, because it is important for the enemy to strike with “quantity, not quality.”
There is only one way to fight against Russian guided aerial bombs – by suppressing the activity of the enemy’s tactical aircraft, in particular Su-34, Su-35 and helicopters.
“Of course, you can try to knock them down, but it will not give the desired results. There are some objective reasons. This can be countered with the help of long-range air defense and fighter jets, but only those that we will have in the future, Western aircraft, including the F-16.” – clarified the representative of the Air Force.
We will remind that the Ukrainian military has already started training directly on the F-16. The Pentagon said how long the training of pilots of the Armed Forces on American fighters can last.
