The Ukrainian military repelled the attacks of the Russian army in the areas of the settlements of Bilogorivka, Chervonpopivka, Kuzmine, Luhansk region, and Soledar, Bilogorivka, Pidhorodne, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Vodyane, Kurdyumivka, Mayorsk, Maryinka, and Pobyeda, Donetsk region.

The occupiers are conducting offensive actions in the Bakhmut, Avdiiv and Lyman areas, in the Kupian area – they are trying to improve the tactical situation. The General Staff noted that they focused on capturing the Donetsk region within the administrative border, but were not successful.
During the day, the Russian Federation carried out 8 missile and 31 air strikes, carried out 63 attacks from rocket salvo systems.
In the Siverskyi, Slobozhanskyi, Kupyanskyi, Lymanskyi, Bakhmutskyi, Avdiivskyi, Zaporizhzhya, and Kherson areas, dozens of settlements were shelled by tanks, mortars, barrel and rocket artillery.
“The occupiers continue to carry out measures to mobilize the local population in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. So, in Horlivka, Donetsk region, on January 6 of this year, during another raid, up to 30 people were mobilized, 4 of them with disabilities. After 2 days of so-called training at the Vostochny training ground, they were sent to one of the military units of the Russian occupation forces.”the General Staff reported.
The Russians continue to suffer losses: in the first week of the year, about 120 soldiers were brought to the hospital in Novotroitsky, Kherson region.
During the current day, the aviation of the Defense Forces made 18 strikes on the enemy’s areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, as well as 3 strikes on the positions of its anti-aircraft missile systems. Two reconnaissance drones were also shot down.
Units of missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces of Ukraine hit the control post, five areas of concentration of the enemy’s manpower and military equipment, and two positions of the occupiers’ anti-aircraft missile systems.
It will be recalled that the day before, the Ministry of Defense reported that fierce fighting continues near Soledar. The Russian troops failed to capture the city, they retreated, recovered their losses and launched a new, powerful assault.
