After the restoration of electricity supply in the de-occupied territories of Kharkiv Oblast, the next step will be the return of Ukrainian television and radio broadcasting.

This was announced by the Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, Oleksandr Tkachenko, on the air of an information telethon, he writes UNIAN.

“People are depressed, but a significant number of them do not lose their optimism. Because the Ukrainian troops freed them from the Russian occupiers,” the minister told his impressions of communicating with the residents of liberated Izyum.

He emphasized that after the liberation of the temporarily occupied territories of Kharkiv Oblast, the next step after the restoration of energy supply will be the return of Ukrainian television and radio broadcasting.

“The next step is the restoration of light and the return of Ukrainian television and radio broadcasting in the territories. It will already happen in Balaklia almost this week, the same a little later – in Izyum. Communication is being restored there now,” Tkachenko emphasized.

He added that the ministry, together with international partners, is currently working on the issue of expanding television and radio broadcasting in the occupied territories of the country, so that people have reliable information.

“We and our British colleagues are working to provide an opportunity, I will not say in what way, but to provide an opportunity, the expansion of television and radio broadcasting in the occupied territories as well. Information is extremely important for people,” Tkachenko noted.

As UNIAN reported, according to the head of the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting Olga Gerasimyuk, the occupiers completely destroyed the television towers in Izyum and Balaklia.
