According to the investigation, the occupiers recruited a local resident to cooperate remotely. On the orders of the enemy, a supporter tried to obstruct the movement of units of the Armed Forces during clashes near Liman. To do this, he secretly scattered self-tapping screws on the roads of the city, on which the cars of Ukrainian defenders drove.
In addition, the criminal collected intelligence on the location of checkpoints of the Defense Forces and facilities of Ukrzaliznytsia. He passed on the received information to his “liaison” – a gunner of a tank company of the Russian tactical group “Kupol”, with whom they studied together at school. They kept in touch through the banned Odnoklassniki social network.
At the beginning of the summer of this year, SBU counter-intelligence agents detained a collaborator in Lyman. During the search, a phone was seized from him, which he used in subversive activities for the benefit of the Russian Federation.
The court found the aggressor’s supporter guilty of collaborating. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
- Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine announced the suspicion of collaborationism against a resident of Kupyansk, Kharkiv region, who during the occupation of the city cooperated with the Russian invaders and joined the “department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs”.
