Above all, Ukraine needs multi-purpose fighters, which in tandem with the long-range artillery supplied by the allies, will help in the de-occupation of territories seized by Russia.
Yuriy Ignat, the spokesman of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, announced this on the national air telethon.
“I will say simply: we need planes now and today. We need to close the Ukrainian sky. Which we are holding today, after all: for the third month now, Russian aviation has not flown over. However, we need to de-occupy our territories and control the entire airspace of our country.”– he noted.
At the same time, Ignat reports that in addition to artillery, it is also important to have certain missiles to destroy Russian air defenses.
“Therefore, multi-purpose fighters are really a weapon that could significantly help in the de-occupation of our territories: both in air and ground operations. We still need to destroy their air defenses along with the samples of Western artillery that our partners have already supplied us. Armed with such anti-radar missiles under the wings of the planes, we could gradually destroy their anti-aircraft defenses, and even further help with air support in the advancement of our troops and the liberation of our territories.”– adds the spokesperson of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Earlier, the General Staff reported that Russia is deploying additional forces and air defense in Belarus.
We will remind you that the Ukrainian military said whether air defense can protect against artillery fire.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs also named the only region of Ukraine where there were no Russian missiles.
