The Verkhovna Rada registered a draft law on the cancellation of the deferment for men obtaining a second higher education. The draft law itself contains certain nuances regarding the mobilization of these students.
About this in broadcasts of the telethon Fedir Venislavskyi, a member of the parliamentary committee on national security, defense and intelligence, as well as a member of the Servant of the People faction, said. He noted that after the adoption of this law, not all men who wanted to get a higher education a second time will be mobilized, transmits 24 Channel.
What will happen to the postponement after the adoption of the draft law
Venislavskyi said that, according to information from the Ministry of Education and Science, in 2019-2021 there were about 40 thousand students aged 25 and older. However, already in 2022, there were more than 106 thousand such students.
“This year, the numbers are also approaching 100,000. This means that 60,000 men decided to use this opportunity to avoid the draft,” he emphasized.
The People’s Deputy also emphasized that some institutions of higher education have opened full-time contract recruitment to enable men who already have an education to enroll and receive a deferment from mobilization.
Venislavsky also noted that these “applicants” entered institutions with a lower educational level than these men had. In particular, these could be vocational and technical institutions, when these “students” already had a higher education in another specialty.
That is why the people’s deputy registered the draft law on canceling the deferment for men obtaining a second higher education. According to him, this will make it possible to close the loophole for delaying mobilization while studying at the university.
Fyodor Venislavskyi, Member of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence I proposed that people studying in successive types of education should have the right to deferment. And those who entered the second, third, fourth higher education after 30 years could not use such a right to postponement.
Previously, the Ministry of Defense introduced changes for persons with limited fitness
- On September 3, the Ministry of Defense made changes to the regulations on military medical examination in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In particular, there removed “controversial articles”which related to persons with limited fitness.
- In addition, the document has updated the list of diseases that can cause a delay in the mobilization of a citizen. In this way, there will be more Ukrainians mobilized.
- After all, now the VLK will also be able to determine the suitability of the military in another specialty, if he was found unfit for the previous one. In addition, the Ministry of Defense simplified the requirements for paratroopers and marines for service.
