The Verkhovna Rada voted to make changes to the 2023 state budget for financial support of the security and defense sector and to resolve priority issues. Budget expenditures were increased by UAH 322.6 billion.
As People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zhelezniak reported, 313 parliamentarians supported the changes.
After the change, the current budget set two records in the history of Ukraine: general budget expenditures will exceed UAH 3.39 trillion for the first time, and the deficit will exceed UAH 2 trillion.
Additional funds will be directed, in particular, to:
- Ministry of Defense – UAH 211 billion
- Ministry of Internal Affairs – UAH 79 billion
- Ministry of Social Policy – UAH 16.5 billion
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs – UAH 1.3 billion
- The Ministry for the Development of Strategic Industries – UAH 4.3 billion
- SBU – UAH 4.2 billion
- Power steering – UAH 2.5 billion
- MES – 572 million UAH
- The State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection – UAH 570 million
- Foreign intelligence service – 500 million hryvnias
- Department of State Security – UAH 230.5 million
- Ministry of Energy – UAH 350 million
- Bureau of Economic Development – UAH 219 million
