“With its unprovoked and unjustified war of aggression, including indiscriminate attacks on the civilian population, Russia has violated this trust and disrespected the fundamental values of our international community. Today’s decision is a direct consequence of Russia’s actions and another proof of our steadfast commitment to Ukraine and its people.”– said the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Czech Republic, Vit Rakušan.

The agreement on simplification of the visa regime between the EU and Russia was adopted on June 1, 2017. This was supposed to facilitate the issuance of short-term visas in a reciprocal manner.

We will remind that on August 31, the European Union adopted a political decision to stop the simplified procedure for issuing visas to citizens of Russia. The European Commission approved the corresponding proposal on September 6.
