The current exchange rate of the dollar in Ukraine in the first months of 2023 may increase by 2-3%, i.e. by 1-1.2 hryvnias per dollar. It turns out that at the beginning of the year, the dollar can cost from 38.8 to 42.2 hryvnias/dollar.

Such a forecast was made by the director of Cominbank’s treasury department Herman Marchenko, noting that such fluctuations are possible if there are no drastic changes at the front, reports “Reviewer“.

The expert is sure that in the first weeks of 2023, we shouldn’t expect sharp changes in the foreign exchange market.

“Given the difficult realities, it is difficult to forecast now. No forecast is able to take into account the unpredictable economic and political circumstances of the war, the consequences of hostilities. Therefore, the exchange rate situation during January-February can be cautiously characterized as “controlled”: on the market, exchange rate fluctuations within 2- 3%,” Marchenko noted.

According to the banker, the currency market next year as a whole will depend primarily on the war and its consequences.
