According to him, Russia’s war against Ukraine may be protracted, its dynamics are difficult to predict, and overcoming the consequences may take a long time.

He noted that Latvia consistently supports the full restoration of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine within the 1991 borders, and only Kyiv can decide when, where and under what conditions Russian aggression can be considered stopped.

Rinkevics stressed that Latvia rejects any pressure on Ukraine on this issue.

“The priority tasks of the Latvian Foreign Ministry are to provide all possible assistance to Ukraine, maintain the sanctions policy against Russia, hold Russia accountable for aggression and collect reparations,” the diplomat said.
