The National Police released a Kyiv policeman who, on August 2, beat a 15-year-old girl to death at a pedestrian crossing in Kharkiv Oblast. Around 7:20 p.m. in the area of the village of Pisochyn near Kharkiv, a law enforcement officer, driving a white Toyota Land Cruiser, hit a 15-year-old girl who was crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing. The girl died from her injuries.
The National Police’s response to the request states that the law enforcement officer who was driving the SUV was fired edition of Babel.
“In the event of a violation of official discipline, an official investigation was conducted, as a result of which the management of the department made a decision to apply the most severe disciplinary measure to the police officer involved in the mentioned event, in the form of dismissal from police service,” the Department of Internal Security noted.
It is reported that on the evening of August 2, the girl was returning home from Pisochyn to Korotych — she was crossing the road at the pedestrian crossing and carrying a bicycle. At that moment, she was hit by a policeman.
Oleksandr Bilka, the press secretary of the territorial administration of the State Bureau of Investigation, said that the driver was sober.
According to the media, the car was allegedly driven by Kyiv police officer Yaroslav Yakymenko. His name has not been officially released.
