The law enforcement officers uncovered new facts of the criminal activity of the oligarch Ihor Kolomoiky, and handed him a new suspicion.
The information was confirmed by the Security Service of Ukraine.
The suspicion was served under three articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- Part 3 of Art. 27, Part 3 of Art. 28, Part 2 of Art. 200 (illegal actions with transfer documents, payment cards and other means of access to bank accounts, electronic money, equipment for their production);
- Part 3 of Art. 27, Part 5 of Art. 191 (appropriation of other people’s property by abuse by an official of his official position, committed by an organized group, in particularly large amounts);
- Part 3 of Art. 27, Part 3 of Art. 209 (legalization of funds obtained through criminal means).
“According to the investigation, in the period from 2013 to 2014, Kolomoisky illegally took possession of UAH 5.8 billion. For this purpose, the defendant created a criminal group consisting of bank employees, in which he was a founder and shareholder. During the specified period, members of this group allowed Kolomoiskyi to allegedly make systematic fictitious “cash contributions to the bank’s cash register”, although in reality the bank did not receive any contributions”. – the SBU said.
Thus, Kolomoisky received 5.8 billion hryvnias, which at that time was equivalent to more than 700 million dollars. Then these fake “contributions” were credited to the oligarch’s personal account and became real non-cash funds.
We will remind you that Ihor Kolomoiskyi is currently in a pre-trial detention center with the possibility of making a bail of 509 million hryvnias.
On September 2, he was charged with fraud and legalization (laundering) of property obtained by crime under several articles of the Criminal Code.
And on September 7, NABU and SAP reported the oligarch’s suspicion of taking over UAH 9.2 billion from PrivatBank.
