Deputy Minister of Defense Anna Painter stressed that the front line today is very wide – 2500 km. At 1300 km there are active hostilities.

“In some directions and sectors, we repel enemy attacks, in others we are moving forward, because a defense operation is a complex of different measures and constant dynamics. As of today, events are developing according to plan,” Malyar wrote, recalling that official data are published on pages of the General Staff and operational commands.

She also explained why official information comes with a deliberate delay.

“Firstly, because any result needs to be consolidated, and only then we can talk about it. Secondly, information should be made public when the enemy has absolutely no opportunity to change anything,” the deputy defense minister said.

  • On August 30, the Ministry of Defense urged not to resort to speculation and not to distort the official statements of the military about the situation at the front: a double interpretation of the situation at the front, “juggling military terminology” and attempts to make their own forecasts are unacceptable.
