The Ministry of Energy estimated the damage to Ukraine’s infrastructure from shelling by the occupiers – they amount to billions of dollars.
As a result of missile attacks and drone attacks, almost 40% of the country’s energy infrastructure was damaged. However, this does not mean that the affected power units have stopped working. This was stated by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko in an interview with Reuters GlavCom.
Since October 10, at least half of Ukraine’s thermal generating capacity has been hit by Russian aggressors, 4,000 MW have been lost. “I have to tell you that it is… at least half of the heat generation capacity, even more,” Galushchenko said, outlining the extent of the damage.
However, according to the head of the Ministry of Energy, there is a way out of the crisis. One option is to import electricity, and some traders have already started negotiations with suppliers.
