In Ukraine, from January to October 2023, the number of employees of state bodies decreased by more than 5,000.
This was reported by the Ministry of Finance on November 6.
According to the Ministry of Finance, as of October 1, 170,500 people actually work in 107 state authorities. Since the beginning of the year, the number of civil servants has decreased by 5,300.
The number of employees of the State Tax Service (-2.1 thousand people), local and appellate courts (-765 people), the State Production and Consumer Service (-731 people), the State Geocadastre (-546 people), and the State Treasury (-538 people) decreased the most.
“In the conditions of martial law, it remains urgent to carry out the reform of state administration in terms of reviewing the functions of certain state bodies and optimizing the number based on the results of functional analysis. Maximally effective use of state resources is a priority, which also applies to the state administration system.” – noted Deputy Minister of Finance Roman Yermolychev.
At the same time, the number of employees of the Pension Fund increased by 1,500 people, the Ministry of Justice – by 586 people, and the Security Service – by 346 people.
