President Vladimir Zelensky sees no possibility for a diplomatic exit from the war, since there are no prisoners with the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin the agreements will not work. The President said this in interview with The Economist.
Zelensky said he is categorically against ending the war by reaching any kind of compromise with Putin. The war will continue βas long as Russia remains on Ukrainian territory,β he said.
In his view, making any deal with Putin is pointless, and those who try to talk to the Russian dictator are deceiving themselves, like Western leaders who signed an agreement with Hitler in Munich in 1938 only to see him invade Czechoslovakia .
βThe mistake is not in diplomacy as such. The mistake is to be diplomatic with Putin. He negotiates only with himself,β Zelensky said.
In the same interview, Zelensky said that βif our partners donβt help us, then they will help Russia win.β
