The US Department of Defense sees no signs that Belarus can become an active participant in the war against Ukraine. About it informed at a briefing by Pentagon Speaker John Kirby.

According to him, there is no indication that Belarus has intentions to take an active part in the war in Ukraine.
“We are not monitoring for signs that they are planning or intending to directly participate in the war in Ukraine,” Kirby said.
- On May 4, the Belarusian Defense Ministry announced that it had begun a “sudden check of the response forces.”
- On the same day, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that a missile battalion had left its place of permanent deployment in Belarus.
- On May 5, British intelligence reported that Belarus’ military exercises were in line with seasonal norms, but Russia was likely to inflate them as a threat to keep Ukrainian forces in the north.
