The US Department of Defense intends to actively cooperate with the US Congress in order to restore military support to Ukraine in the fight against the aggressor as soon as possible.
This was stated by Pentagon spokesman General Patrick Ryder, transmits Ukrinform.
“We’re definitely moving forward, and we’re going to need funding from Congress. We will continue to work with Congress, with representatives of both parties, to advocate for the funding we need.” – said Ryder.
He noted that there is currently $5.4 billion left in the budget to support Ukraine, as well as about $1.6 billion to replenish Pentagon stocks used in aid packages to Ukraine.
Ryder assured that this will be enough to allocate new packages in the near future.
We will remind, on September 30, Kevin McCarthy removed 6 billion dollars to support Ukraine from the bill on temporary financing of the US government in order to pass the document and avoid a “shutdown”.
The US Senate, following the House of Representatives, approved a project to temporarily fund the government for a period of 45 days, which does not include funding for aid to Ukraine.
Also, on October 2, it became known that the White House announced a new aid package for Ukraine.
