The new prime minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, known for his anti-Ukrainian position, called Russia’s war against Ukraine a conflict that cannot be resolved by supplying arms to Kyiv.

He stated this during his visit to Prague on November 24, according to reports AP.

According to him, the Russian-Ukrainian war is nothing more than a frozen conflict. And the supply of Western weapons will not significantly change the situation.

In Prague, Fico, after a meeting with his Czech counterpart Petr Fiala, said that he would like the Russian and Ukrainian sides to sit down at the negotiating table. However, he did not say how to achieve this.

It will be recalled that Fico and his government stopped providing military aid to Ukraine after coming to power. However, Fico promised that he would not prevent the transfer of weapons for the Armed Forces from private companies.

On November 8, the Slovak government blocked a new package of military aid to Kyiv.
