The Verkhovna Rada supported the resignation Vadim Gutzeit from the post of Minister of Youth and Sports. The people’s deputy reported this Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
The decision on Gutzeit was supported by 243 deputies.
Yesterday, November 8, the Rada received a letter of resignation. Head of Parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk promised to consider it in the near future.
Previously, two interlocutors LIGA.net in the leadership of the faction Servant of the people reported that this week only the dismissal of Gutzeit will be considered; the issue of appointing a successor is not on the agenda.
Vadim Gutzeit is a Ukrainian fencer, saber fencer and Olympic champion. Currently he holds the post of President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine. In 2020, a number of Ukrainian media, in particular hromadske, reportedthat Gutzeit appears in the case file on the possible theft of public funds for the purchase of boats for Kyiv athletes.
- On July 27, the Ministry of Sports did not provide permission to leave Ukraine for 54-year-old Ukrainian chess grandmaster Vasily Ivanchuk to participate in the 2023 World Cup. Despite the fact that Ivanchuk received a wild card from FIDE.
- Gutzeit denied this, called it a provocation and accused Russia of βshaking the situationβ, since FIDE is allegedly headed by Russian Arkady Dvorkovich.
