The aggressor country announced a new attack on the Shaykovka military airfield in the Kaluga region and traditionally blamed Ukraine.

This is reported by the Russian Telegram channel Mash.

“The Armed Forces attacked the strategic Shaykovka airfield in the Kaluga region. Unsuccessfully – according to our information, Ukrainian kamikaze drone intercepted and destroyed Mi-28 helicopters”the message reads.

According to the information of the Russian channel, this is the third attack on the Shaykovka airfield since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia. The first attempt allegedly took place in October 2022, and the second – in August 2023.

At the same time, the military leadership of Ukraine has not yet commented on the statement of the Russians.

We will remind you that today, September 17, Russia announced an attack by drones. Anti-aircraft fire allegedly shot down eight Ukrainian UAVs over Crimea and the Moscow region at once.

Also, on the night of September 17, a fire broke out at an oil depot in the Russian city of Orel. Local authorities announced a drone attack.
