During the meeting of the first committee of the UN General Assembly, the deputy head of the Russian delegation, Kostiantyn Vorontsov, said that Russia will transfer Iskander-M dual-equipped systems to Belarus and convert some of the Belarusian Su-25s to the technical ability to carry nuclear weapons.

Such actions, according to Vorontsov, are connected with the possible alleged advancement of NATO’s nuclear infrastructure to the east.

«In particular, the same Poland has been declaring its desire to fully join joint nuclear missions for several years. Recently, the activity of Warsaw in this direction has increased sharply. This was certainly taken into account by Russia and Belarus when considering the issue of countermeasures“, he said.

However, there are currently no plans to equip Belarus with nuclear warheads.

Earlier, Oleksandr Lukashenko stated that Vladimir Putin and the leadership of Russia “never set themselves the goal” of using nuclear weapons in Ukraine.
