The Russian military staged a “Bermuda Triangle” in the port of Novorossiysk

Marine navigation systems cannot work properly and show real “miracles” due to GPS jammers.

The Russians have set up a “radar Bermuda triangle” in the port area of Novorossiysk after rebasing submarines there from Crimea. This is evidenced by the data of the ship tracking website MarineTraffic.

This site shows a real-time map of the location of all ships equipped with an automatic identification system (ais). This system uses the American group of global positioning satellites (GPS), which should give a fairly high accuracy of determining the coordinates of the ship.

However, at the beginning of last week, the MarineTraffic map began to show an absolutely impossible picture in the Novorossiysk area. There, 10 ships (seven oil tankers and three dry cargoes) did not dock at the seaport, but sailed inland and anchored at the airport of the neighboring city of Gelendzhik.

According to the edition The Moscow Timesthe reason for the failure in displaying the actual location of the ships was the work of the GPS jamming systems used by the Russian military to cover the submarine base.

It is noted that this is not the first such case in Novorossiysk. In 2017, the chemical tanker “Atria” also got “lost” on the approach to the port of this city. According to the captain, the navigation system determined the position of the ship at a distance of 25-30 miles from the actual location – precisely at Gelendzhik airport. About 25 ships “teleported” to the airport that day.

Redeployment of the Russian fleet from Crimea to Russia

The Russians began transferring part of their military fleet from the occupied Crimea to Novorossiysk back in the summer, when the threat to Sevastopol Bay became obvious.

On October 29, unknown naval drones attacked and damaged several ships of the Russian Navy stationed in Sevastopol Bay. After that, the Russians transferred another part of the fleet to the east of the Black Sea.

However, it later turned out that even the bases in Novorossiysk are not completely safe for the Russian fleet. Unknown drones attacked them there as well.
