The Security Service continues comprehensive measures to bring to justice the members of the occupying groups of the Russian Federation who took part in the war against Ukraine.
As a result of the pre-trial investigation, 19 militants of the L/DNR terrorist organizations were informed of their suspicion of committing particularly serious crimes.
The perpetrators were captured during the counteroffensive of the Defense Forces and the liberation of Kharkiv region.
Among those detained are former prisoners who at one time served actual sentences for criminal offenses, including murder.
After their imprisonment, they remained in the temporarily occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
However, a few days before the full-scale invasion, they “responded” to the calls of terrorists Pushylin and Pasichnyk to conduct “general mobilization” on the territory of the quasi-republics.
To do this, they voluntarily came to the local “military commissars” and “enlisted” in the ranks of the occupation groups as part of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation.
Together with the Russian invaders, they fought against the Ukrainian troops in the Donetsk and Luhansk directions.
Among other things, the intruders set up combat positions and fortifications of the aggressor.
Later, they were transferred to the Kharkiv region, where they were supposed to cover the escape of the main units of the Russian Federation during the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces.
Currently, the detainees have been notified of suspicion for:
▪️ Part 1 Art. 111 (treason);
▪️ Part 1 Art. 258-3 (participation in a terrorist group or terrorist organization);
▪️ Part 2 Art. 260 (participation in the activities of armed groups not provided for by law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Work is ongoing to prepare and transfer relevant materials to the court. The investigation was conducted by the SBU staff of the Lviv region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor’s office.
