The cost of components is almost UAH 2.5 million. In order to ship products to foreign customers, the dealers planned to take them outside of Ukraine, hiding them from customs control.
“In addition, in this way, the perpetrators wanted to take out of Ukraine a radar unit for MiG-29 fighters, which is used to recognize aircraft in the “home-foreign” mode by the air defense system,” the SBU reported.
One of the persons involved, who wanted to transport aircraft products to one of the countries of East Asia through the unrecognized Transnistria, was detained in Odesa. The investigation established that in order to secretly take out the goods, the clever man hid them in the technological cavities of his own car.
“According to the investigation, the organizer of the scheme turned out to be a businessman from Kharkiv. In order to find foreign customers, he posted advertisements about aircraft parts suppliers on specialized Internet resources,” the SBU said.
“During the searches of the addresses of the persons involved, a large number of units for aviation equipment of Ukrainian production, prepared for sending abroad, were seized,” they added.
On the basis of the collected evidence, the investigators of the Security Service notified the three detainees of suspicion under Part 1 of Art. 333 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the procedure for international transfers of goods subject to state export control).
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be criminally punished until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
