The situation at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant has only worsened recently. At the station, work should be carried out to maintain the condition of the equipment, but no one does it.
This was stated by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko on the air of the telethon.
The minister reminded that the power plant has not been working for over a year. He also explained that “Ukraine supplies electricity to the ZANP to ensure the functioning of safety systems.”
“But this is an atomic generation facility. And there it is necessary to carry out appropriate work on maintaining the condition of the equipment. These works are not carried out. The situation is called equipment degradation.” – emphasized the minister.
He added that Russia violated all mechanisms and agreements regarding nuclear safety in the world.
It will be recalled that the occupiers changed the condition of two power units of the Zaporizhzhya NPP at once. Such actions increase the probability of a radiation accident at the station.
Previously, the number of Ukrainian nuclear workers who remained working at the ZNPP was named.
It was also reported that in September, IAEA experts recorded many explosions near the Zaporizhzhya NPP.
