The Russian army is intensifying mine-mining in the Robotyny and Verbovoy areas and is trying to consolidate the armed forces in areas of the front further from the western part of the Zaporizhzhia region.
This is stated in reports Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Analysts note that Russian troops have begun remining previously demined areas on the Robotine-Verbove line (from 10 to 18 km southeast of Orikhov) to achieve tactical surprise.
In addition, the Russians intensified tactical offensive operations in several areas of the front outside the Zaporozhye region in order to stretch the defense and divide the attention of the Armed Forces.
According to the spokesman of the Tavriy group of forces of Ukraine, Colonel Oleksandr Shtupun, the Russian troops are trying to pin down the Ukrainian forces in the Avdiyiv and Maryinsky directions and prevent them from transferring reserves to the Zaporizhia direction.
It is also reported that on October 8, Ukrainian troops continued counteroffensive actions near Bakhmut and slightly advanced in the west of the Zaporizhzhia region.
It will be recalled that on October 8, it was reported that the Armed Forces continued to advance in the Melitopol and Bakhmut directions.
British scouts also spoke about the successes of the Armed Forces in the Velika Novosilka area of the Donetsk region.
Earlier, the general of the US Army predicted how long the active phase of the armed forces’ counteroffensive would last.
