The United States and allies, including Great Britain and France, are calling a closed meeting of the UN Security Council on October 19 over Iran’s supply of weapons to Russia.

The meeting will discuss Resolution 2231 of the Security Council, which, while no longer restricting Tehran’s export of conventional weapons, contains restrictions on missiles and related technologies.

The ban will last until October 2023 and could cover the sale and purchase of advanced military systems, including drones.
