The US government announced the introduction of new sanctions against Belarus.

This is reported on official website the US Treasury.

16 individuals and legal entities connected with the regime of Oleksandr Lukashenka fell under the restrictions.

Sanctions, among other things, were introduced against the country’s largest airline, the state-owned Belavia. In addition, the Minsk Civil Aviation Plant, the Belarusian Metallurgical Plant and the Bombardier CRJ-200ER aircraft owned by Belavia were also restricted.

The USA also imposed sanctions on Oleksiy Aleksin, an oligarch close to Lukashenka, his two sons and his wife.

We will remind, on August 3 it became known that the EU introduced new sanctions against Belarus due to its involvement in Russia’s military aggression in Ukraine.

Earlier, the Committee of the European Parliament called on the Hague court to issue a warrant for Lukashenka’s arrest.
