On Tuesday, December 20, the World Bank approved an additional financing package totaling $610 million to address Ukraine’s urgent aid and recovery needs.
This is reported by the agency Reuters.
“The package includes an additional $500 million loan from the World Bank’s International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, backed by a UK guarantee”the message says.
As noted, at the same time, it includes a new project to restore and improve access to medical care and meet the needs of war-related medical services.
It is worth noting that the World Bank has mobilized 18 billion dollars of financial support for Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war, about 13 billion dollars have already reached our country.
The World Bank Group includes: the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), which lends to middle-income countries and solvent low-income countries; International Development Association (IDA) – gives loans on preferential terms to the poorest countries; International Finance Corporation (IFC) – provides loans, guarantees and invests in private enterprises of developing countries; Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) – insures political risks for investors and creditors of developing countries; Trust funds.
