Turkey will continue to advocate for the continuation of the Black Sea Grain Initiative, as there is no alternative to this agreement yet.
This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan after talks with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, he was quoted by the portal Anadolu.
According to him, the grain agreement should be continued by eliminating all shortcomings.
“The Black Sea Grain Agreement plays a key role in eliminating the global food crisis. It acts as a breathing tube for those who need it. There is no alternative, all other options are not as effective and safe.” Erdogan said.
The President clarified that Turkey, together with the UN, intends to prepare a new package of proposals for the restoration of the grain agreement, which should help to achieve a real result.
It will be recalled that after negotiations with Erdogan, Putin said that Russia is not ready to resume participation in the grain agreement. According to him, the Kremlin has a number of requirements for the return.
Earlier, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, suggested that the President of Turkey has the best chance of influencing Putin in the matter of restoring the grain agreement.
