The Ministry of Foreign Affairs commented on the joint declaration of the “Group of Twenty” countries. Ukraine is disappointed by its wording.
This was announced by the spokesman of the Ukrainian agency Oleg Nikolenko on Facebook.
He emphasized that he was disappointed with the part of the document that refers to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. According to Nikolenko, the participation of the Ukrainian side would allow the participants to better understand the situation.
“Ukraine is grateful to the partners who tried to include strong wording in the text. At the same time, in terms of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, the Group of Twenty has nothing to be proud of. It is obvious that the participation of the Ukrainian side would allow the participants to better understand the situation. The principle of “nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine” remains as key as ever,” the message reads.
He published a corrected document of what the main elements of the text could look like to be closer to reality.
It will be recalled that Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of G20-chairing India, announced that the approval of the declaration shows that the participants were able to find compromise formulations in the blocs related to Russia’s war against Ukraine.
It should be added that Ukraine did not receive an invitation to the summit. This decision was made because the G20 deals with economic issues, such as the growth and development of groups of countries and individual states.
