On October 22, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the missile attack on Ukraine, which was carried out by the Russian Federation in the morning of the same day.
The information was published on official Facebook page of the air command.
Starting from 7 o’clock in the morning (approximately until 10:00 a.m.) the Russian army struck Ukraine:
- “Kalibr” missiles from the Black Sea area – 16 launches, 5 of which were shot down;
- by Kh-101/Kh-555 missiles from the city of Volgodonsk in the Rostov region of the Russian Federation – 17 launches, of which 13 were shot down.
Effectiveness of Ukrainian air defense forces: shot down 54% of missiles launched by Russia.
However, it should be noted that the “Calibers” misfire worse than the X-101/X-555:
- downed “Kalibrov” – 31%;
- downed X-101/X-555 – 76%.
If we take into account that the Kalibr missile costs about 6.6 million dollars, and the X-101/X-555 – about 13 million, then for one missile attack the population of the Russian Federation was impoverished by 374 million dollars.
Serhiy Bratchuk, the spokesman of the Odesa OVA, said that during the second missile attack, 4 more Russian shells were additionally shot down.https://t.me/Bratchuk_Sergey/21232?embed=1
We remind you that during the rocket attacks, explosions were heard in the western, central and northern regions. “Ukrenergo” introduced the economy mode in 10 regions of Ukraine.
On October 22, the occupiers organized a massive missile attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure facilities, Ukrenergo began forced power outages. A message about this was published in the company’s Telegram.
“On October 22, rashists carried out another missile attack on the energy facilities of the backbone networks of the western regions of Ukraine. The scale of damage is comparable to or may exceed the consequences of the attack on October 10-12,” the report says.
The company noted that Ukrenergo specialists are trying to restore power supply in the regions that were left without electricity as soon as possible. Repair crews will begin restoration as soon as the rescuers of the State Emergency Service eliminate the consequences of missile hits.
“Also, restrictions on energy supply are now involuntarily applied in Kyiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Sumy, Kharkov, Poltava, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporozhye and Kirovohrad regions. Consumer restrictions are necessary to reduce the load on the networks and avoid repeated failures after the power grids were damaged by terrorist missile attacks,” Ukrenergo said.
The company explained that dispatchers decide to temporarily limit consumers when the level of consumption increases in the region, and at the same time it is impossible to deliver more electricity there due to the destruction of the electricity networks caused by Russia.
Ukrenergo was asked to carefully consume electricity throughout the day and especially during peak hours – from 6.00 to 11.00 and from 17.00 to 23.00.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba, commenting on the morning enemy attacks on civilian infrastructure, urged not to delay in making a decision regarding air defense systems for Ukraine.
“Saturday in Ukraine begins with a volley of Russian missiles aimed at the most important civilian infrastructure. We intercepted some of them, others hit the targets. Air defense saves lives. In the capitals, there should not be a single moment of delay in making a decision on air defense systems for Ukraine,” he wrote on Twitter.
