After the liberation of the village of Grakovo in the Chuguyiv district, a local resident contacted the police and reported that during the occupation in March, the Russians forced him to bury two men with gunshot wounds and cut off ears.
On September 9, investigators of the Chuguyiv RUP, forensic experts of the investigative department of the State Criminal Investigation Department in the Kharkiv region, under the procedural guidance of the Chuguyiv district prosecutor’s office, conducted investigative actions in the territory of the settlement of Hrakovo, Kharkiv region. The removal of two bodies from the burial place took place in the presence of journalists from Ukrainian and foreign mass media.
During the inspection, the information about gunshot wounds and the absence of ears on the bodies of the buried people was confirmed.
The identities of the dead have not been established.
The bodies have been sent for forensic examination.
Under the procedural leadership of the Chuguyiv District Prosecutor’s Office of the Kharkiv Region, investigators of the Chuguyiv District Administration opened criminal proceedings under part 2 of Art. 438 (violation of the laws and customs of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The sanction of the article provides from 8 to 12 years of imprisonment.
