“While in some ways yesterday’s election was somewhat disappointing, from my personal perspective it was a very big win – 219 wins and 16 losses in total – who has ever done better?” Trump tweeted.
CNN referring to Trump’s adviser, he says that he is “furious” and “shouts at everyone.” The most striking loss, he said, for Trump came in Pennsylvania, where Republican Mehmet Oz lost to Democrat John Fetterman.
According to preliminary estimates, the Democratic Party is losing its majority in the House of Representatives – the Republicans have already received 203 seats against 187 from the Democrats (218 seats are needed for a majority).
In the Senate, the parties almost evened out – the Democrats received 48 seats against 49 from the Republicans (51 seats are needed for a majority).
Control of the Senate now rests with the states of Nevada, Arizona, and Georgia. For the smallest majority, Democrats or Republicans need to win two of them.
In Georgia, after counting 99% of the vote, none of the candidates won an absolute majority, so the distribution of seats in the upper house of Congress is likely to be determined by the second round of voting in December.
