The Ministry of Defense announced the launch of the process of processing documents confirming the status of the UBD during the rebuff to the full-scale aggression of Russia. For this, 18 commissions will be created, they will start working approximately from December 1, after which work with documents will start.

There are three ways to get UBD status:

– by contacting the commander of the unit, who centrally submits documents for subordinate military personnel;
– a serviceman can apply in person, independently collect documents and submit them to the commission;
– a person dismissed from military service can apply through the territorial recruitment and social support center.

“The process of granting UBD status will be controlled to prevent the appearance of fake veterans who heroically “defended boilers” in the deep rear. This is primarily a matter of respect for real heroes who defend Ukraine, risking their lives,” Reznikov said.

He stressed that over the nine months of the active phase of the war in Ukraine, there are hundreds of thousands of combatants, so the processing of such an array of documents will require a certain amount of time, which Reznikov urged to treat with understanding and does not rule out that “there may be some nuances at first.”

“Everyone who has a reason will receive UBI status and appropriate social guarantees. No need to worry, no one will be forgotten or lost,” Reznikov assures.

  • In April, the Ministry of Veterans reported that only those volunteers who directly took part in the hostilities, and not throughout Ukraine, as was supposed before, would receive the UBD status and the corresponding social guarantees.
  • About 1 million Ukrainians are fighting against the Russian aggressor, and there are about 100,000 of them among the people of Kiev.
