The Armed Forces of Ukraine have already received almost all the promised air defense equipment from the Western partners. But this amount is still not enough to protect important objects on the territory of the country.
This was reported by Yuriy Ignat, a representative of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, at a briefing in Media Center Ukraine.
“Today we received from the West practically all the air defense that we were promised. This is one of the best air defense systems in the world. But the word “all” here needs to be divided – into the nomenclature of receipt and the amount.” – said the spokesman of the Air Force.
According to Ignat, two Patriot batteries, as well as several SAMP-T and IRIS-T systems are not enough to protect the territory of Ukraine.
“Everything is about quantity. Today we need to focus not only on complexes for the Air Force, but also for air defense of the Ground Forces. Terrahawk Paladin, for example, is what you need to take down the Shaheds. There are more “Shaheeds” and we need means that can automatically destroy these targets with 100 percent success.” – emphasized Ignat.
We will remind you that President Volodymyr Zelenskyi recently said that air defense equipment will help speed up the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, explained why it is profitable to give Ukraine more air defense before winter.
