Today, September 9, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi agreed with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Hayashi Yoshimasu to start negotiations on security guarantees.

Zelensky thanked the minister for the clear position of Japan, which today remains a key partner of Ukraine in Asia and continues to support our country.
It will be recalled that on September 9, the head of the Japanese Foreign Ministry arrived in Ukraine for the first time since the beginning of the invasion. He said that his country will continue to support Ukraine, strengthen anti-Russian sanctions, and help it get through the winter. In particular, Japan will hand over cranes for demining. Earlier, they promised to transfer UAV detection systems.
