Ukraine failed mobilization after the dismissal of military commissars, solutions are needed – militant people’s deputy | News of Ukraine

Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence Roman Kostenko in an interview Radio NV stated that Ukraine failed mobilization after the dismissal of military commissars.

“We all know that we now have a problem with mobilization, one might say, its failure. After the military commissars were fired, we started having problems with this. <...> To be honest, we have more problems with mobilization than problems with the shells,” he said.

The people’s deputy said that Ukraine needs “unpopular decisions” from the political leadership. For example, reducing the age of mobilization.

The day before, the head of the Servant of the People faction David Arahamia stated that by the end of the year in the Verkhovna Rada, with the participation of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Armed Forces, it is planned to develop a comprehensive document on the mobilization and demobilization procedure.

According to Kostenko, “this is not even a document, it is a bill” that is being prepared by the working group.

“I saw a draft of this document: there are norms that we have been talking about for a long time, which were in the media. They said something separately: my colleague said something Fedor VenislavskyMaryana Bezuglaya said something, David Arakhamia said something, the General Staff and the Ministry of Defense said something: now they are trying to take a comprehensive approach to resolve some mobilization issues,” the people’s deputy emphasized.

  • Mobilization in Ukraine will move to a “smart format”. People will choose their specialty themselves.
  • On October 14, the head of the public relations service of the command of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Vladimir Fityo, called on those liable for military service to personally come to the territorial recruitment and social support centers and update their data – so that the state has a real picture of the reserves that now exist in the country.
  • Earlier, the Ministry of Defense reported that updating data in the TCC does not mean that a person will be mobilized, and everyone who is registered must undergo the procedure for updating data by law.
