The United States of America has practically used up all the funds that were allocated to help Ukraine. Of the total volume, 4% remained.
This was stated by the coordinator of strategic communications of the National Security Council of the White House, John Kirby, during briefing at the White House on Wednesday, November 8.
“Of all the funds that have been provided to Ukraine since the beginning of the war, which is more than 60 billion dollars, and this is not only security aid, but also economic, financial, and humanitarian aid, we have used 96%. More than 90% of the funds for the replenishment of security assistance have already been spent.” said the official.
Kirby called on the US Congress to approve the request for additional aid to Ukraine.
“The Ministry of Defense has approximately 1.1 billion dollars to replenish stocks before winter. So that runway is getting shorter and that’s why we need to approve this additional request.” – said the representative of the White House.
At the same time, he emphasized, the US still believes that Ukraine can regain full control over the entire territory of the country, although “it may not happen as quickly as we would like.”
“I think they have been underestimated since the beginning of this conflict, they are strong and brave, they have good control and there is no doubt that they will continue to succeed.” – concluded the coordinator of the National Security Council of the White House.
It will be recalled that on November 7, the Democrats in the Senate blocked the bill of the Republicans on aid to Israel without Ukraine.
Also, on November 7, the US Congress supported the bill on the transfer of frozen Russian assets to Ukraine.
Earlier it became known that the US is running out of available funding for military support to Ukraine under one of the programs, so aid packages will be reduced.
