The bodies of another 64 fallen defenders of Ukraine managed to be returned to their homeland. They will be handed over to forensic experts for identification.
This was reported in the coordination headquarters for the treatment of prisoners of war on October 6.
“Today, as a result of repatriation measures, the Ukrainian side managed to return the bodies (remains) of 64 fallen (deceased) defenders of Ukraine to the territory under the control of the government of Ukraine”the message says.
In turn, the Ukrainian side, in accordance with the norms of International Humanitarian Law, handed over to the Russian side the bodies (remains) of combatants who died in connection with armed aggression against Ukraine.
We will remind, on September 15, Ukraine returned the bodies of 51 more fallen defenders. On August 4, another transfer of the bodies of servicemen who gave their lives for Ukraine took place.
