The authorities actively use artificial intelligence technologies to search for missing Ukrainians during the war.
This was announced by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, at the EquAllty hackathon event.
The ombudsman said that AI, in particular, helps to recognize faces when searching for missing people.
In addition, this technology is used to solve the following problematic issues:
- privacy and cyber security threats;
- misinformation;
- increased invasion of privacy.
“It should not be forgotten that the purpose of artificial intelligence is primarily to promote the development of man, society, and the state. And taking into account the interests, rights and freedoms of a person should be the most important thing.” Lubinets emphasized.
We will remind you that in the spring, the Unified Register of Missing Persons under Special Circumstances became operational in Ukraine. As of October 19, 28,000 Ukrainians were added to it.
Earlier, Lubinets talked about the mechanism of returning Ukrainian children from Russia.
