In the Bakhmut direction, the Russians continue to try to counterattack in the north, but to no avail, and in the south, the Defense Forces are making progress in the area of a number of settlements. Speaker of the Eastern Group of Forces Ilya Yevlash announced this on air at the national telethon.
According to him, north of Bakhmut, the Russians continue to counterattack, trying to recapture the positions they previously lost, but to no avail.
“In the southern direction near Bakhmut, we continue our offensive operation. In particular, there are successes near Bakhmut, Kleshcheevka, Andreevka and Kurdyumovka. There, our defenders fight back our positions, drive away the enemy and force him to retreat,” Yevlash said.
He noted that during the day, the Russians fired at Ukrainian positions in the Bakhmut direction almost 600 times, and eight clashes took place there.
Russian losses per day amounted to 222 occupiers (probably killed and wounded – Ed.). The Defense Forces also destroyed a number of Russian heavy equipment, the Murom-M surveillance station, which broadcast the theater of operations in real mode, three field ammunition depots, and a number of UAVs, including SuperCam.
Yevlash noted that this drone is usually used for civilian purposes, for cartographers: “You can see that the enemy does not have enough forces and means, that he uses even such civilian means to conduct combat operations.”
- In the Liman-Kupyansk direction, the Russians are now concentrating their efforts in the Novoselovsky Svatovsky district of the Luhansk region, trying to break through the defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces there, but “they are fighting like fish against ice.”
