Ukroboronprom and the German arms concern Rheinmetall have created a joint enterprise to service and repair Western equipment. About it reported prime minister Denis Shmygal.
According to him, the enterprise will service and repair equipment donated by the allies; production of leading models of Rheinmetall equipment will also be localized there.
The limited liability company “Rheinmetall – Ukrainian Defense Industry” was registered on October 18.
“The creation of a joint venture is, without exaggeration, a landmark event that takes cooperation between our countries to a qualitatively new level and will allow us to together build the arsenal of the free world,” the head of government said.
Rheinmetall produces a number of advanced weapons used by the Defense Forces in the war against Russian occupiers, notably Leopard 2 tanks and Marder infantry fighting vehicles.
